What is Indium tin oxide (ITO) and ITO conductive coated glass?

Indium tin oxide is typically encountered as an oxygen-saturated composition of In2O3 and 5~10% SnO2 by weight.

Chemical formula:In2O3 + 10% SnO2→(In0.9Sn0.1)2O3

ITO film has the following charateristics:
1. Low resistivity 10-4~10-5Ω-㎝
2. High visible light transmittance up to 90%
3. Patternable by acid etching
4. Chemical stability
5. Weather-resistant

Therefore, ITO is the most widely used transparent conducting oxide (TCO) material in electronic, optical and optoelectronic devices such as transparent heating elements, antistatic films, electromagnetic wave protective films. Recently, it has also begun to be applied to industries such as smart dimming windows and solar cells.
